I cant believe its the 17th October and it 16 degrees and the bees are going crazy, I think the fear of wasp damage is now over and I decided to widen the entrances on the hive as there is a good bit of traffic jams going on today. Lots and lots of pollen going into the hives.

I've decided to add an extra box of foundation to HIVE2 & HIVE4 as the weather is going to be mild and there is a massive ivy flow on at the moment and maybe the bees will be encouraged to draw out loads of frames. Its cant do any harm, I will leave them on for a few weeks and take them off in the beginning of November. Hopefully this will give me some nicely drawn out frames for spring build-up and for any nuc I want to make up.
