Wesley planted up 10 globe artichokes today into one of the permanent beds. Its packed full of my home-made compost and hopefully next summer we will be able to enjoy a few of them steamed.

Also got 3 mature crowns of rhubarb planted so that's 6 large mature crowns ready for picking next year. I think I will plant another 6 crowns this winter too as its something that is always used.

Rhubarb is so easy to use and store, it freezes great and can be used from frozen in anything for tarts to jams or just a quick rhubarb stew to add to yoghurt or custard.
