Why It’s Special

In 2024 and 2025, this Heather honey earned the prestigious 3-Star Gold at the Great Taste Awards—the first Irish honey ever to do so. From the mountain slopes to your jar, it remains exactly as nature intended.

• Taste Profile: Intense, woody, and floral with a thick, luxurious texture.

• The Process: Unlike most honey, heather honey is too thick to spin out of the frames. I have to move the hives deep into the mountains every July. To harvest it, I cut the honeycomb, mash it, and press it through hessian cloth—much like a traditional fruit press.

• Pure & Raw: Because it is cold-pressed and only coarsely strained, your jar contains tiny, beneficial particles of beeswax and local pollen.

Better Than Manuka?

Research from Trinity College Dublin has shown that Irish Heather honey is just as high in health-promoting antioxidants as New Zealand’s Manuka honey—and in some cases, even better.
