Our Signature Tour

Work with the Bee's

Have you ever wondered what it’s really like inside a beehive?

Our signature farm tour takes you on a complete journey from the honey house to the heart of the apiary. This isn't just watching—it's a hands-on, sensory experience led by me, your beekeeper.
Your day is split into two fascinating parts: the theory and the practice.

Your day begins with a warm welcome at the farm. We’ll start with tea and coffee, giving everyone a chance to settle in and get to know each other.

Then, we’ll head into my new honey house for a “classroom” session unlike any other. This is where you’ll discover the secrets of the colony. We’ll cover:

  • Beekeeping Essentials: All the equipment a beekeeper uses, from the hive tool to the smoker.
  • Life of a Bee: How the bees work together, communicate, and interact with their beekeeper.
  • The Magic of Honey: The fascinating process of how bees create honey, from flower to jar.

This session is fully hands-on. You’ll get to hold and use the equipment, and—most importantly—taste your way through the different types of delicious honey I produce right here on the farm. We’ll finish this part of the day with a dedicated Q&A session.

  • Beesuits will be supplied here at the farm, due to Covid they will be washed and sanitised after each use, disposable rubber gloves will be supplied for wearing under the leather gloves.
  • It is recommended that each person bring a pair of wellies..
  •  A Taste of Dublin & Wicklow: Your visit begins with a warm welcome of tea, coffee, and light treats. We’ll then move on to the sweetest part: a guided tasting of the unique, local honeys I harvest from our hives across the region at different times of the year.

  • All Protective Gear Provided: Your safety is our top priority. We’ll provide you with a professional, full-body bee-suit and protective gloves to ensure you are comfortable and secure while visiting the bees.

  •  A Sweet Souvenir: As a thank you for visiting, you’ll leave with a small jar of our local honey to take home and enjoy.

  •  A Note on Footwear (What to Bring): Please bring your own pair of rubber boots (wellies) or sturdy hiking boots. As we’ll be walking through grassy fields, this is essential for keeping your feet dry and adding an extra layer of protection.
  • Beesuits will be supplied here at the farm.
  • Disposable rubber gloves will be supplied for wearing under the leather gloves.
  • It is recommended that each person bring a pair of hiking style boots or wellies.

A young child in a beekeeping suit stands near an open beehive, surrounded by bees. An adult holds a smoker tool to calm the bees, while others in protective suits observe.
A group of people in protective beekeeping suits stand around a beekeeper inspecting a beehive frame outside, near a tall green hedge.
A wooden beehive labeled "OLLY'S FARM" stands in a garden with green leafy plants and a background of dense, leafy shrubbery.

Two beekeepers in protective suits and gloves inspect a frame from a beehive, filled with bees. Green beehive boxes are visible in the background on a grassy area.

Learn About Our Honey

For us, ‘bee life’ is a direct connection to the land. Our apiaries aren’t confined to a single farm; they are carefully situated across the diverse landscapes of Dublin and Wicklow. This variety is the secret to our honey’s pure, complex flavours. Our bees forage on everything from urban garden blossom and rich wildflower meadows to the wild purple heather of the Wicklow hills.

Each harvest is a unique snapshot of a specific location and season. We believe in letting that natural character shine. That’s why we gently prepare our honey as creamy soft set or clear liquid, capturing a distinct taste of the Irish landscape in every jar.
