Stone wall underway

Brian has been here all week working on the wall, we had electric gates that kept on breaking so we decided to change the whole system and install a 4 x 2 metre roller gate. This led to us needing to decide on the wall and jobs are adding to it. We hated the existing wall mainly because it looks so out of place in this country setting. We sourced some stone in an old ditch that we have to pick out and also our neighbour is letting us use some stone he has laying around the place.

Before we can get the gate installed we need to get at least the ends of the wall completed. This involved digging out the trench to concrete in the steel bar for the gate to run on and extend the foundation of the wall at the base by 200mm to support the weight of the new stone wall.

This is the progress after 3 days, its slow finding the correct stone to get around the corners but after this is done the rest should fly up. We need to find a new post box, intercom and lights...
