New beehives arrived and we have been busy getting ready for the season

My new beehives arrived and for the last couple of weeks myself and Paul have been busy building frames and painting hives. They are poly Langstroth hives and hopefully will keep the bees warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Research has also shown than bees in poly hives are up to 3 weeks ahead of bees in traditional timber boxes. This would be an advantage for me living in the mountains where we are about 2-3 weeks behind other beehives around Dublin...Some of the hives ready for painting...150 frames to put together, next we need to put in the eyelets and wire the frames...Some hive parts drying in the sun...
