Bees in Ballycullen all ready for the winter
All the bees in Ballycullen got their final checks and it's a beautiful day here around 16-17 degrees. You can really smell the ivy nectar coming into the hives. The bees in Ballycullen all have a laying queen with plenty of stores and pollen to get them through the winter. Straps were added and I will pop in to check them every few weeks to see they haven't blown over or got knocked over by animals. And maybe treat for varroea mites at Xmas with oxalic acid, other than that, that's it with them until next March.Under the roof of a single brood langstroth hive, nice and strong going into the winter :-)
