We're hiring! Looking for a career in bee farming?
Olly’s Farm has just about grown to the point where we need help to bring the business forward and manage more hives that will be producing lots of Irish honey.
We currently have 200 hives around South Dublin and North Wicklow, they’re producing award winning spring and summer blossom honey. The strongest hives get promoted in late July with a trip to the moors where they produce the best and most award winning heather honey in Ireland.
We’re fairly flexible with the type of role that we’re looking to fill. Some of the options open to us are:
full-time or part-time
taking on an apprentice and starting from scratch, learn the ropes from the very beginning
maybe a role for someone retired with some time on their hands and looking to learn something different
an experienced beekeeper that is looking for a challenge in growing this business to be the biggest bee farming operation in Ireland and producing the best honey in the country
Some of the tasks involved would be:
weekly beehive inspections
moving beehives to different crops
queen rearing
nuc building
harvesting honey
extracting honey
building and repairing equipment
If you had an interest in farming and smallholding there is also lots of jobs to be done around the farm from planting crops to working with the animals
Olly’s Farm is located in rural Tallaght up in the Dublin mountains and the nearest bus is 4km away so your own transport and full driving licence is essential
We regret we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role so only candidates based in Ireland with an EU passport or valid visa should apply.
If this roles sounds of interest please apply now and send over your CV and Olly will be in touch
